The Logan City BMX Club began in the late 70’s.
Each year the club held a race meet called the Logan City $10,000 with $10,000 worth of awards from trophies to cash. This event drew some 800 riders each year. In 1989 the World BMX Championships were held at Chandler with Logan City, Beenleigh and the Sandgate track being host tracks to events leading up to the World Championships. Logan City BMX Club has also been the venue for the State Age Championships and numerous State, National and World plate holders.
In January of 2001, a team of BMX professional riders, now in their early twenties, who experienced the great days of the club and the action of a downhill track, got together and formed a club with its own constitution. This club is now known as the Logan City BMX Academy Inc.
The concept of Logan City BMX Academy makes us unique to other BMX clubs. Our Mission is to develop bike skills and educate members about bike maintenance and bike safety, to encourage children participating in bike activities to have fun, enjoy riding their bike, while developing bike skills. Logan City BMX Academy caters for all ages and all levels of bike riders from beginners to competition riders. This new and exciting venue will be undergoing constant upgrades to allow the club to function successfully and provide an elite BMX track for its members and bike riding enthusiasts. Logan City offers the complete package when it comes to BMX and Mt Bike riding.
