Alise Mans Post as Sam Battles at Nerang

Round 4 of the National Probikz and Champbikz competition was conducted at Nerang, Queensland, this morning, with last night’s winner Sam Willoughby in action again against some very tough opposition.

The threat of rain no longer hovered over the venue, and riders were greeted with partly cloudy conditions and a bumper roll up of spectators to cheer on their family members and heroes.

One such spectator was lucky enough to get a grand stand view of the action from the commentary box in the centre of the track, and this was none other than Alise Post, the girlfriend of Aussie super star, Sam Willoughby, and one of the world’s leading female BMX riders.

Until a recent accident which left her sporting a caste on her right leg, Alise was leading the ABA competition in America, but unfortunately a crash in Tulsa, Oklahoma robbed her of the opportunity of being “Number 1”.

“Well, being Number Two in the ABA’s not so bad” she laughed.

“I was planning to come to Australia to hang out with my boyfriend Sam Willoughby and race in the Probikz Series. Now I have to sit the whole thing out. It’s very frustrating.

Still, there isn’t much you can do back home when its snowing and you’ve got a boot on. I prefer to come to the sunshine”

“I’m flying home on the 11th, and the caste should be off a couple of days after that. Then I’ll start Rehab, and  hopefully be ready to go by March.”

“When I get better, I’ll have another crack at the Worlds. I got a podium spot last year and I hope to be up there again, and then I’ll concentrate on Supercross as it’s the Olympic points year this year.”

The ABA Title is another goal, but all that International stuff means a lot of hard work.”

In the meantime, Sam Willoughby didn’t let his girlfriend down this morning, or his fans, demonstrating blistering form on the re-vamped Nerang track.

He stormed through the motos in effortless fashion, then was able to take out the Probikz Final was consummate ease, stamping his authority on the Series, and issuing a warning that he will be extremely hard to beat in Supercross competition later in the year.
