Policy Update - Member Protection Policy

To all State Associations and Member Clubs

 An updated National Member Protection Policy can be found on the Policy page of the BMX Australia website - HERE.

 A central goal of BMX Australia is to develop the sport of BMX throughout Australia and internationally for the safety and enjoyment of its participating members.

 The updated National Member Protection Policy will work towards maintaining ethical and informed decision-making and responsible behaviours within our sport. It outlines our commitment to a persons right to be treated with respect and dignity and to be safe and protected from abuse.

 This policy was endorsed by the Board of BMX Australia on the 29th  August 2014 and will operate until replaced. 

 This policy applies to:

  • BMXA
  • BMXA Members
  • Constituent Associations
  • Affiliated Clubs
  • persons appointed or sitting on Boards or committees of BMXA or constituent Associations
  • Employees, coaches, volunteers and officials
  • Any person or organisation, who is a member of, or affiliated to, BMXA or a constituent association
  • Parents, guardians, spectators and sponsors to the full extent that is possible.

BMXA and Constituent Associations (states) must:

  • Adopt, implement and comply with this policy
  • Publish, distribute and promote this policy
  • Apply this policy consistently
  • Recognise and enforce any penalty imposed under this policy.
